Satan the god of this world keeps people from understanding the Word of God and that people them self's closed their ears and hearts from the truth.

Heareth the word of the kingdom and understandeth it not, Satan taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. They fail to understand how the word of God applies to them

The stony places with no depth of earth and moisture, Represents people who hear the Word of God and understand. But they do not continue in the Word of God for themselves.

The seed among the thorns are Care, Riches, Lusts, Pleasures entered in to the believers life, to steal the Word of God from them and make them unfruitful.
