There are two kingdoms in opposition to each other, the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan and these kingdoms are opposite each other. This is an unseen war raging on every front: the war between the forces of righteousness and the forces of wickedness and between God and Satan. It is only throw the eyes of faith that you can see God's kingdom.

 

WE NEED TO KNOW OUR ENEMY

 

 When we don't know our enemy we will too often fight against others or the Spirit of God, rather than against the real enemy Satan and his demons.

 

 Eph 6:10 - 12  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 
 

Our enemy is an evil spiritual force led by Satan. The enemy includes rulers and authorities, an angelic forces who have rebelled against God and exercise temporary power.  We are called to walk circumspectly to be alert and vigilant, knowing that God has given us power and authority over Satan and his demons.

 

1 Pet 5:8,9   Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

  

Jesus cast out demons by the Spirit of God

 

 Mat 12:24 - 31   But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:   And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?    And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.   Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.  He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.  Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

 

 Jesus cast out a demon by the power of God, by the Holy Spirit or as it says in Luke the finger of God. The religious leaders tried to discredit Jesus by saying he did it by the power of Satan. Jesus warned that crediting the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan was blaspemy and that it shall not be forgiven. Jesus said that this exorcisms was performed  by the power of the Spirit. We need to be careful not to give Satan create for the work of God. If we are not acting in line with Jesus we are against him for Jesus said "He that is not with me is against me;".

When Jesus ascended to heaven he gave what we call the great commission. In this command from Jesus He said "these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;". On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit was give to believers and the Spirit continues to lead those that believe in this struggle against demonic forces.

 Acts 2:1 - 4   And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

   

The Holy Spirit is still at work and he is seeking those that he can work through  to bring the power of God's kingdom to a lost and dying world. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to prove, confirming the word with signs following.

Mar 16:20  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen

 

 Luke 4:1  And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

   

 

Acts 6:8   And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

 

 Acts 7:55  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

  

 We all  need to be full of the Spirit of God and led by Him

 

 Rom 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

 

WE are chosen for obedience to Christ

The Holy Spirit works in our lives to make us holy and pure servants, to obey Jesus. The Spirit leads bring to our reminds what Jesus taught that we may obey Him.

 

 John 15:26  But when the Comforter the Holy Spirit is come, whom I Jesus will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he the Holy Spirit shall testify of me:

 

  John 16:13,14  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

 Rom 15:16b    being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

 

 1 Pet 1:21    Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

 

 
1 Pet 1:3 - 51    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,   Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.

 

 
Mat 28:18 - 20    And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world, the end of the age Amen.

 

 
Mark 16:15 - 18    And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

 
 

The Great Commission is the last recorded personal instruction given by Jesus. It is the marching orders for the church. Just like God Said to Moses "I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians," then God Said "I will send thee unto Pharaoh," In the same way Jesus said " All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth Go ye therefore"  Jesus has commanded us to go to the world; Egypt, and give them God's Word and signs will follow. We have a spiritual power of attorney, the legal right to act in behalf of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the name of absolute authority. In the name of Jesus we are baptized, and it is the name by which demons are cast out by the Spirit of God.

Exo 3:8  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Exo 3:10  Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

But before they were to go out into the world they were to wait for the promise of the Father the Holy Spirit. For this work can not be  performed in our own power and strength. It is like the word that came to Zerubbabel saying "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. " The disciples were to wait for the Holy Spirit to come and in power them.

Acts 1:4, 15  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Zec 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Col 2:15    And having spoiled principalities and powers, he Jesus made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in the cross.

 Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

John 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

 Acts 19:2  He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? and they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

We are to be workers together with God, we can do greater works than Jesus did. For Jesus has spoiled the power of the enemy throw His resurrection. Jesus has commissioned us to go into the world, not by our strength, but by the Holy Spirit, the finger of God. 

Question will you obey Jesus and go?
