The Name of Jesus is above every
name. At the name of Jesus demons and sickness have to
live. Jesus said that all power and authority was given
to Him, go therefore in my name.
Isa 7:13,14 And he said, Hear ye now, O
house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men,
but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself
shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive,
and bear a son, and shall call
his name Immanuel.
The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a
Son and will call him Immanuel.
Immanuel
= God with us
Isa 9:2 - 4 The
people that walked in darkness have seen a great light:
they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon
them hath the light shined. Thou hast multiplied the
nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee
according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when
they divide the spoil. For thou hast broken the yoke of
his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his
oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
Isa 9:6,7 For unto
us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and
the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the
increase of his government and peace there shall be no
end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to
order it, and to establish it with judgment and with
justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will perform this.
Christ is the One who brings us joy and increases our
joy. Salvation fills us with greater joy than any festival
or victory.
His name is
- Wonderful
- Counselor
- Mighty God
- Everlasting Father
- Prince of Peace
A Branch shall
grow out of his roots
Isa 11:1 - 4 And there shall come forth a rod out
of the stem of Jesse, and a
Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the
spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And
shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the
LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes,
neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with
equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the
earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of
his lips shall he slay the wicked.
Paul related Jesus to the Root of Jesse (Ro 15:12).
Rom 15:12 And the prophet Isaiah said, There shall
be a root of Jesse,
and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the
Gentiles trust.
The final parts of the Book of Revelation present a word
picture of "The Peaceable Kingdom'' celebrating the time
when the "kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of
our Lord and of his Christ''
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there
were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become
the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and
he shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev 19:15,16 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp
sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he
shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the
winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And
he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND
LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the
sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword
proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled
with their flesh.
Peter Heals the Crippled
Beggar
In the name of Jesus Christ
Acts 3:1 - 8 Now Peter and John went up together
into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth
hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was
carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple
which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that
entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about
to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening
his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave
heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as
I have give I thee: In the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And
he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and
immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them
into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Acts 4:5 - 14 And it came to pass on the morrow,
that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, And Annas the
high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as
many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were
gathered together at Jerusalem. And when they had set them
in the midst, they asked, By
what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye
rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day
be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by
what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and
to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by
him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the
stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is
become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation
in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they
saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that
they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and
they took knowledge of them, that they had been with
Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing
with them, they could say nothing against it.
Acts 4:18,19 And they called them, and commanded
them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But
Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be
right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than
unto God, judge ye.
I command thee in the
name of Jesus Christ
Acts 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul,
being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus
Christ to come out of her. And he came out the
same hour.
1 Cor 1:1,2 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of
God, and Sosthenes our brother, Unto the church
of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in
Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every
place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both
theirs and ours:
Phil 2:9 - 11 God
also hath highly exalted Jesus, and given him a name which
is above every name: That at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue
should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father.
Age
to
Come
Mat 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against
the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever
speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven
him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Eph 1:19 - 23 And what is the exceeding greatness
of his power to us-ward who
believe, according to the working of his mighty
power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from
the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the
heavenly places, Far above all principality, and
power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is
named, not only in this world, but also in that which is
to come: And hath put all
things under his feet, and gave him to be the
head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the
fulness of him that filleth all in all.
We participate in two ages, the present age and the one
to come. The exalted authority of Jesus spans both ages.
He brings the powers of the age to come into the present
age.
The
Great
Commission
Mat 28:18 - 20 And Jesus came and spake
unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:17,18 these signs shall follow them
that believe; In my name shall they cast
out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and
they shall recover.
