Paul Preached

What Gospel Did the Apostle Paul Preach?

Did the apostle Paul preach a different gospel from the one that Jesus Christ preached?

Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom of God.

What did Paul preach?

The kingdom of heaven vs. the kingdom of God

The term ‘kingdom of heaven’ is identical with the term ‘kingdom of God’. The scripture below shows that the Lord used both terms to describe the same thing.

(Mat 3:1-2 KJV) In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

(Mat 4:17 KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

(Mark 1:14-15 KJV) Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

(Mat 18:3-4 KJV) And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

(Luke 18:16-17 KJV) But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

The kingdom was the center of Christ's preaching.

The kingdom of God, generally means, the rule of God, the supreme rule of God over the lives of those who have accepted Him, both those in heaven and earth that are subject to God freely and walk in the light, fellowship with God. The kingdom of God is, universal in that it includes heaven and earth, angels and men. It is eternal, it is an everlastingly kingdom only those that are born-again can see God’s rule, kingdom in the earth today, it is a spiritual kingdom, found in or among all born-again believers and in the future it will be visible to all.

What gospel or good news did the apostle Paul preach?

Did the apostle Paul preach a different gospel from the one that Jesus Christ preached?

(Rom 1:1 KJV) Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

HB = 2098. euaggelion, yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on; from the same as G2097; a good message, i.e. the gospel:--gospel.

HB = 2097. euaggelizo, yoo-ang-ghel-id'-zo ); from G2095 and G32; to announce good news ("evangelize") espec. the gospel:--declare, bring (declare, show) glad

(Rom 1:9 KJV) For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son,

(Rom 1:15-6 KJV) So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

(2 Cor 2:12 KJV) Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

Here we have Paul saying over and over again that he preached

            the gospel of God
                  the gospel of his Son,
                  the gospel of Christ
                  to preach Christ's gospel

So what Gospel did Paul preach?

Paul was an evangelist announcing, preached the gospel, which is good new.

What good news?

            The good new of God
The good new of God’s Son
The good new of Christ the anointed one
The good news that Jesus preached

What in addition can we learn about Paul's message?

Preaching the kingdom of God

(Acts 28:30-31 KJV) And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

(Acts 20:24-25 KJV) But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

(1 Cor 4:20 KJV) For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

(Rom 14:17 KJV) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

(Col 4:11 KJV) And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.

Yes, Paul preached the same gospel that Jesus preached, the Kingdom of God. Paul preached the gospel of Christ, the doctrine of Christ. Paul preached the good news of the Kingdom of God, to all that came unto him while he was under house arrest. He taught about the things he had learned from Jesus Christ. We have read in Acts 28:30-31 that Paul "Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, ". He preached the kingdom of God and also taught about Jesus.

(2 John 1:8 - 9 KJV) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

(1 Cor 1:17-8 KJV) For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

(Col 1:13 KJV) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

(1 Pet 1:25 KJV) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

(Gal 3:8 KJV) And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

(Heb 3:9 KJV) When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

(Heb 4:2 KJV) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

A pick and chooses gospel

There are some who say the preaching of Jesus was only for the Jews and not the Church the body of Christ. They say that Paul’s preaching was only for the Church that is the gentile church. They say Peter preached to the Jewish church. Therefore you have to know who wrote what letter in the bible, to know how to apply it. So you will have to dived the bible up, this letter is for me this is not.

We have seen from the word of God that this is not true; 2 Tim 3:16 says

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

And in Eph 2:15 that God made one new man that is one church made-up of Jews and Gentiles.

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

If you have heard this or believe this false teaching repent and believe the bible not some false, deceived preacher. Don’t forget what 2 John 1:8 and 9 says

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

You have to abide in the teaching of Christ, his doctrine. To transgress that is to violate, not keep it, to not do what Jesus said is to NOT have God the Father or Jesus the Son, if you do not have Jesus you’re NOT SAVED.

So what gospel did Paul preach?

He preached the same gospel that Jesus preached. 2 Cor 2:12 says -- Furthermore, when I came

Who is the I that came?

It is Paul. So 2 Cor 2:12 says --Furthermore, when I { Paul } came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

Another question whose gospel?      Christ's

This means that Paul preached what Jesus preached. The kingdom was the center of Christ's teaching and that of the early church. The church must invite people to repent and join God's kingdom. The kingdom of God is for those who believe in Jesus and do the will of God. A Christian's first priority is to seek the kingdom and follow the will of God.
